Tyler Brown

Pitching, Hitting, Outfield Instructor
Tyler Brown is a Joliet native who attended Joliet West High School where he played 3 years of varsity baseball and was an All-Conference player and was selected as a Joliet Herald News All-Area player. Tyler went on to play baseball while attending College at Spalding University in Louisville, KY. While at Spalding, he went on to play in the College World Series in back to back years. During his freshman year, Tyler threw a perfect game in the College World Series. In his sophomore year, Tyler found himself in the College World Series yet again and pitched 2 games in the tournament including the title game. From 2015 through 2018, Tyler coached baseball for Joliet Central High School. Tyler is currently the Varsity pitching coach for Joliet West High School.

Alvin Perez

Hitting & Fielding Instructor
Alvin Perez is a Romeoville native who attended Providence Catholic High School in New Lenox and graduated in 2014. In his senior season, he was on the 2014 State Championship team that paved the way for 3 consecutive state titles. After being recruited by various colleges and universities, he commuted to Roosevelt University to continue his career.

At Roosevelt University he was a 3 year starter at 1st and 3rd base, starting 108 games out of 111 games. He was a part of the Academic All-Conference team as well as being in the voting for the Gold Glove Award at the end of the seasons.

Wayne L. King, Jr.

Joliet Junior College Head Baseball Coach, 1986 – 2019
As a member of the 2009 NJCAA Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame, Coach Wayne L. King, Jr. has the most wins in the history of Joliet Junior College with an overall record of 1127-738.

During King’s tenure as Wolves head coach, he has guided his teams to three NJCAA national championships (1994, 2008, 2012), three national runner-up finishes (1995, 2007, 2015), and two third place finishes (1997, 2006). He has made 12 total NJCAA World Series appearances, has earned sixteen Region IV Division III tournament championships and claimed seven N4C titles.

Without question, King’s coaching success has not gone unnoticed. He has been voted Coach of the Year in the competitive N4C seven times. For the Wolves success in 1994, 2008, and 2012 he was named NJCAA Division III
National Coach of the Year, Coach of the Year for the Division III World Series and District B Coach of the Year. King was inducted into the Region IV Hall of Fame by his fellow Region IV athletic directors as an administrator/coach in 2004. In

2009, King was inducted into the NJCAA Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame for his career coaching accomplishments. During that same year, the JJC baseball field was officially named Wayne L. King, Jr. Field. In 2015, King was inducted into the

Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Coach King will be inducted into the American Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame in January 2020.

Tyler Bordner

Is a Morris native graduating from Morris High School in 2015. Went to Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, IA as a catcher and outfielder. Batting .307 in his junior college baseball career. After his two seasons Tyler transferred to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (Division 1). In his two years at Milwaukee, Tyler earned a First & Second team recognition in the Horizon League. Batting .308 in those two years, he posted a .376 batting average in his senior season and earned second team Mideast ABCA recognition. Continuing his career with the Joliet Slammers, Tyler played a season until ending with an injury.

Billy Murphy

Graduated with an education degree from Illinois College. He has been coaching junior high, high school, and travel in both baseball and softball for over 10 years. In 2018-19, Coach Murphy was at the helm of the inaugural Old Quarry Middle School baseball season and led them to a 18-1 record. The only loss of that season was after winning a regional and sectional championship while at the IESA State Series. He is currently a teacher and freshman head baseball coach at Plainfield East High School.

Anthony DiNardo

Anthony DiNardo was born and raised in Joliet where he attended Joliet West High School. At Joliet West, DiNardo was a SWSC All-Conference and Herald News All-Area pitcher and 3rd Baseman. Two shoulder surgeries later, DiNardo attended North Park University in Chicago, IL where he transitioned to a new role as a Designated Hitter.
As a team captain at North Park, DiNardo was named a member of D3baseball.com’s First Team All-Central Region and ABCA/Rawlings’ Second Team All-Central Region as well as a CCIW (College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) All-Conference selection. At the halfway point of his senior season, DiNardo was the nation’s batting average leader across all Divisions of NCAA baseball. His .605 batting average qualified him as both the CCIW batting average leader and the overall NCAA batting average leader.
While at school, DiNardo worked summer baseball camps for the Chicago White Sox and Chicago Cubs where he inspired children to pursue the great game of baseball while developing the fundamentals of the game. DiNardo received his Bachelor’s degree from North Park University in English and Secondary Education in May of 2020.
